The recent Fukushima Dai-Ichi disaster in Japan dramatically illustrated this need when cooling ponds and fuel rod pools and inventories were not adequately monitored during and following the failure of the Fukushima Dai-Ichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Recently the effluent radioisotopes of Tritium and Carbon-14 have been declared to be “principal nuclides”. A determination based on current technology such as now available through US Nuclear Corp’s diverse and innovative inventory to detect and monitor such nuclides.
